OER vs Goodmark Front Bumpers

I'm considering the purchase of a new front bumper for my 1972 C-30.

The prices are within $10 of each other for an OER T70001 and a Goodmark 4143-000-712 through Summit Racing Equipment.

Is there anyone who has seen either of these in person or who can offer some advice of one compared to the other?

Re: OER vs Goodmark Front Bumpers

I have a goodmark on the front of my 68. Just got it a month ago so I don't know how it will hold up against rust. Triple coated and very nice. Not as heavy as oe but I am quite happy with it.

My mom always had the best advice. It was just a tad late. After a fall that involved blood, she'd say....."Careful!"

Thanks for the reply Shawno72.

Out of curiosity, did it come with the bumper bolts? If not, did you use ones from Goodmark as well?

Re: OER vs Goodmark Front Bumpers

I personally bought a new front for the 68 a month or so ago from GMC pauls- It was tri plus and very well made. I had used a keystone parts unit because it was here and not peeling (then) like the dented original. If the goodmark is like the keystone it is not worth the scrap weight. Buy one from Paul and dont worry about it.

No I actually used my original bumper bolts. They were painted but in good shape, I just scraped the paint off and rubbed them with steel wool and they look great.

Re: OER vs Goodmark Front Bumpers

I have triplus bumpers as well, very satisfied. For bumper bolts I picked up solid stainless bolts at a show. I had some stainless "capped" bolts from classic parts, but they came in damaged due to just being throw in a bag with a bunch of other things.
