Rubber Floor Mat.
Anyone have these installed in their trucks?
http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cc/full.aspx?Page=120 (the polyvinyl) My truck came with carpet but I'm wondering about maybe putting this in instead of carpet because I have a feeling the carpet will stain after a trip to the deer lease. Would I need to cut holes for the seat bolts? If I use this, can i still use the chrome door sills? I like the look of them but I know the carpet fit under them. Thanks! Michael

I was going to order the same thing, but then I went with a new carpet.... Kinda wish I would have gotten the rubber.

Re: Rubber Floor Mat.
You can use the door sills with the rubber mat.
I think these are the only way to go for a "working" truck. I'm yanking my carpet as soon as I save enough for a vinyl replacement. |

Re: Rubber Floor Mat.
I've had seven trucks over the years with the factory rubber or vinyl and one with carpet.
I wouldn't get carpet for anything I intend to use as a truck. My 76 doesn't qualify as a working truck so it will get carpet. |

Re: Rubber Floor Mat.
Hmm, it's my first truck but I work at the ranch alot with the cows and hunt at our lease all during deer season and when it's not hunting season that means it's time to get work done around there......and all of this means mud. From what I gather from my dad's truck is mud + carpet = big mess

Re: Rubber Floor Mat.
Does the rubber just sit on the flooboard with the seat bolts through it or does it attach anywhere else?

Re: Rubber Floor Mat.
I believe there was felt jute behind the rubber on all my squares to insulate my feet and soak up the mud once the floor covering wore through under my fuel pedal. I think the sill plates shifters and seat held it in place. My T400 GMC has Vinyl with Jute backing. The sills seat and shifter definitely keep it in place.

Re: Rubber Floor Mat.
I put the LMC pad in my crew just have to have it warm to get it to lay down and flatten after you roll it out I made the mistake of doing it in the winter and the shop was not warm it was a fight to get it to lay down I ended up just leaving it and will let it fall in when it warms up then trim the extra

Re: Rubber Floor Mat.
I did the rubber floor in my '73. (ordered it through captkaos) Jute back under your feet, I put old blanket under seat area. Definitely make sure it's warm when you install it.
Door sills, seats, seatbelts, etc. bolt down the same as they did with the carpet. In an old snowplow, carpet wasn't going to work (IMO). The truck did have carpet from the factory.

Re: Rubber Floor Mat.
I ordered all my trucks new with the rubber floor mat (as did my father before me). Obviously a lot easier to keep clean than with carpet.
When I redid my truck I ordered the rubber from LMC but didn't like the fit (high hump floor) and sent it back. The one in my truck now is from Capt Kaos, which I would highly recommend. K
