Question 51 frame swap?

Ok..I got ahold of a late 70's Cheyenne pickup to take the low mileage 350/350 out for my 1951 5 window project....then the thought ocurred... Is it possible to use the later frame etc... with my 51 bodywork? Has anyone done this before? Anyone have pics if it has been done? Any pointers appreciated.
Cheers!

Josh

I havent done the job, so i wont be much help on details.....I have seen a couple trucks setup on a 70 chassis tho. the track width is a little wide, but will work with the proper offset on the wheels. i have also seen a couple articles on usings the 70's front crossmember under the 47-54? or 55 1st series. Damned if i can remember where i saw it, but it didnt look like too bad a swap. If memory is with me, the 70's frame is about 1 1/2" wider, & you need about 3/4 " spacer on ea side to fit the crossmember(do your own measure to verify this), as I have not donr the job myself. those old "fatfender" chevs are cool! you might try this site.... http://www.chevytalk.com/ good luck, crazyL
