best Manifold for Holley 4160

I have a old 600CFM Holley 9834 ( model 4160) that I am going to rebuild and install on my stock 72- 307. It does have a set of Hooker headers. Any thoughts on a good manifold? I see on E Bay Edlebrock Performance 2101 and Holley Demnominators 701R-36 and 38s. I kinda like the Holley because it matches the carb. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Get an Edelbrock Performer RPM and forget the rest.

Any square bore carb will fit a square bore intake whether it's a 4150 or 4160, 390 cfm or 1,000 cfm.

Re: best Manifold for Holley 4160

I've had the Edelbrock Performer rpm before and liked it - but it was on a fairly warmed over engine. Personally, on a stock 307 (with just headers) I'd just put a Performer (not the RPM) on it. It is designed for a lower rpm range and I doubt you'll wanna be revving that 307 to 6 grand. My 2 cents. Either way, you can't go wrong - both are good manifolds. If you plan on doing some perf related mods, beyond just headers, by all means get the Performer RPM.

BTW....you want to pick an intake based on the motor combo and not the style of carb. In other words....what it will be going on and not what will be going on it! ;o)
