transmission code?

well the tranny in my 71 went out a few days ago and i have been looking for a replacement for it. i found one but we are not sure what it is i could only find one code on the tranny and it was on the bellhousing. does anyone know what this code is 8623462. then on the tail case i found this code 862314 AW. any help would be helpful thanks everybody.

Do you have a 3 speed or 4 speed stick? Or do you have an automatic, TH-350 or TH-400?

The number you posted is probably a casting number.

any th350 with same tail shaft lenth will work
