Removing Leafs To Level?

Searched but didn't have much luck.

I got new rims on last night and with the smaller tires the stance of the truck looks odd because the front is lower than the rear. I'd like to not add 3/4 ton springs on the front because the tires would look smaller so I'm hoping I can remove some of the leafs in the back.

How many would I need to remove to make the rear even with stock 1/2 front springs? If it is possible to remove them to make it level, how can I take apart the leafs?

Thanks!
Michael

Was looking at these
(http://www.ebay.com/itm/73-87-CHEVY-...14954250715195)
Would installing these level the rear without having to modify the leafs? I think the rear is 2" higher. Just stock height. Would have to measure when I can get up to the shop again.

Re: Removing Leafs To Level?

My 86swb was lowered by taking out a leaf in the rear and cutting 1.25 coils out of the front. It gives a slight rake. 2 leafs removed levels the truck

Re: Removing Leafs To Level?

I have the AutoZone shackle's on mine, they fit fine with no issue's.
shackle's will be your best bet but keep in mind you will have to notch the brace that goes across the bed right above the shackle for clearence.
if you need to lower it after the shackles then consider front hanger's or remove'n a leaf.

1 pallet of cement or sand and it will ride level.

Re: Removing Leafs To Level?

I ordered a set of 2" drop shackles last night. I have the G50 "heavy duty rear suspension" option on my truck so I have the 56" leaf springs so the shackle sits behind the bed cross brace. Shackles are much easier for me now since I realized I didn't have to cut anything. Thanks for the replies though!
