i want to keep the pedal in the floor of my 57 chevy 3100 but i want to go to a hyd clutch and get away from a manual clutch been looking found a few thing but nothing really was woundering if any one on here has ran into this before thanks an yall have a merry christmas

I put a hydraulic clutch on mine but, used it and the entire pedal setup from a mid 80s Chevy truck.

It would be difficult to do. You need a bell from a 60-62 that has a shift fork on the right side and the mount pad for the slave cylinder. The pedal and clutch master cylinder is the problem. I don't know how you would hang it and make it work.

Would it be possible to use a 64ish C10 brake master cylinder as a clutch master?

are you wanting a hyd throwout bearing (like modern transmissions) or a hyd slave cylinder for the mechanical throwout (like early 60's chevs)?

It can be done but you are probably going to have to put the clutch master cylinder behind and to the right of the brake master cylinder and use a longer push rod. You will have to build a reinforced bracket to hold it too. You could build a bracket for the slave cylinder on the left side but it would be simpler to use the early 60's bellhousing and slave cylinder unless you are a pretty crafty fabricator.

There is something that is pretty common that uses a single clutch master cylinder that could be adapted but off the top of my head I can't remember what.

easy if you stick the clutch master cylinder on the firewall ,,but would be cool to have it hidden under the frame ,,you can use any gm bellhousing they make slave cylinders to bolt up to the old style and the newer aluminum ones ,,best place for that stuff i google for stock car racing or round about cars they have all the fabricated and mounting brackets and adapters for good prices

thanks for the input guys ya i do want to keep pedal in floor mr 48chev hit it i think that what i was thinking but didnt no if it would work i wanted to go with a new 6 speed trans but havn brught 1 yet
