Just figured I'd show my current side project.

Re: 4wd Golf Cart

That's interesting... what will be powering this and splitting the power front and rear?

Re: 4wd Golf Cart

It will be powered by a Kawasaki 220 Bayou motor rear mounted with a chain drive. I'm not going for high speed but with 5 speeds and 9:1 gearing it should move ok.

That is too cool, I wish I had those fab skills, oh and a place to exercise them.

Re: 4wd Golf Cart

Projects like this are great for honing fab skills because the vehicle is light-weight and lower speed so the alignments and such don't necessarily have to be perfect. I am using a simple leaf spring suspension for the rear but for the front I have narrowed a Dana 44 axle and am building a cross between a quarter-elliptical and triangulated four-link suspension.

Re: 4wd Golf Cart

Haven't made much progress. I acquired some seats that I think will work well but have been caught up with rebuilding the hydraulics on a front end loader for my uncle. I hope to have a rolling chassis in the next week though.
