Shifter issue / Body line issue /Future Build

OK so about 2 months ago i picked up the truck after having been severely butthurt that i sold my last one, Stole the truck for 2500, its a 90 Short bed reg cab 350 with a 5 speed. Has a brand new paint job just needs some tlc. I ripped the interior out and am waiting for the new interior to get here, blacking it out with carbon fiber accents. and a dark red mahogany grant steering wheel. its got some bogging issues, and the person before me was clearly a not mechanically inclined because it has two different leaf springs in the back, and the bed sits about 1/2 and inch higher then the cab. I want to know how to resolve that if the cab spacers are just bad or what?
<p>

Now the shifter issue, so im driving the truck home and go to shift in to 4th and the shifter decides to fall into my hand... you can imagine the face i made as i was clearly in shock. so i pull into a parking lot, and pull the half a boot of to find that the shifter was only bolted in with one bolt.. and the housing is cracked. Now ive wanted to changed the shifter cuz the handle is ungodly long and would like a bit more of a sporty look. Also driving the truck i can barley hear myself think with the amount of tranny noise there is, theres no boot no rubber gasket and i can see the ground while driving, where can i find these? ive been looking and looking and googling but cant find what i want.

Future plans for the truck is to get a 4/6 drop, mini tub 13" meats in the rear, with an lq4 and a t56 tranny pushing it. Also need to get 3.73 posi, not sure if i should just swap a 454ss rear end in or not. i want to sit at around 450 hp so info would be nice.

I'm no help with your shifter, but I know there's a 454ss rear (14 bolt 3.73) in the for sale section right now.

That's a really sharp truck -- needs some new corner lights though!

It's been a few years but our local speed shop used to have a collection of boots and plates available (new and used). Sometimes the local shops can find what you need easier than online shopping.
As far as the body lines, with new paint, the box was probably removed or at least moved to allow for paint on the back of the cab. It has been a while since I was in the body adjustment game but I would check the cab mounts to be sure that everything there is correct and solid. Once that is validated then its box bolts and shims. You may want to try some line striping tape to accent the body line. It will keep your eye focused on the line from end to end and give you a legitimate point to measure from. Don't lose the gap between the cab and the box or the truck will look like it is collapsing in the middle.
