drive shaft trouble

I put a 4" lift in my 71 blazer. The drive shaft is about an 1 1/2" short fully extended. I do not have the body on the frame now. Will the drive shaft work once I put the body back on or do i need to get a longer driveshaft, is it going to go down that much? is it normal to have a driveshaft problem with a 4" lift kit (rough country)?

Re: drive shaft trouble

I would not do anything until the frame gets weighted, to let things settle and get an accurate measurement. I would not even fully tighten things down until it has all it's weight on the suspension.

Re: drive shaft trouble

If the shocks fit right now, the shaft is too short. You have the possibility of hitting a bump, and dropping the shaft. I agree, dont worry about final measurement until it's fully loaded.
