Re: Body mount shim pain in the @$%!!!
Both tops--single and double wall--have steel frames and pretty strong fiberglass to handle tweeking a blazer body that is loose on it's frame.

alright, pulled this one out of the archives. i am in the middle of installing a hard top i just picked up and was quite suprised at the amount of sag the blazer has after diving her topless for a few years. looks like its time to reshim, oh what fun it is!

Re: Body mount shim pain in the @$%!!!
Don't use the top to pull the body up. Loosen all the body mounts and then jack the body up from the "A" pillar first and work your way back "flexing" the body so you can tighten the top down. Once the top is snugged down your lines should be where you want them. Before releasing the jack put your shims in and you should be good to go.

Re: Body mount shim pain in the @$%!!!
Hey Blue Thunder, I did like you said and all is GOOD! loosened all body mounts, followed the original shim placement from factory as the OEM manual shows with the large square washers/shims, and everything lined up pretty well and the doors even open and close without slammiing them!
