71 c10 offset

Hey guys, this is my first post after many hours browsing over time. I have a 71 c-10 lwb I have been collecting parts for and Im stumped on the wheels. So far the truck needs body work and paint and so far I'm still in the buying stage. Have a 01 corvette ls1 with custom ground cam dual valve springs titanium retainers, 2600 pound air bags with 8 inch c-notch, 3 inch drop spindles with 1 inch bag cups. 4 1/2 inch valves, engine driven air compressor, billet grill with new polished grill shell. Almost done buying parts and now Im looking at the wheels. I really want to run a 22 out back and 20 up front or 22s all the way around. I cant seem to find the offset thats best. Its a 5 lug bolt pattern and the last thing I want to do is spend 1500 on rims and they not tuck inside the fender wells making them useless for a bagged setup. If I have too Ill even run a 22x8.5 all around. Basically everytime I call a rim shop, there useless.. Help please

Welcome from Central Florida also. I'm not worth a dam either when it comes to bags and big wheels but somebody will be along shortly that is.

Re: 71 c10 offset

F 20x8.5 5.25 or 5.5" Backspacing. 255/40/20
R 20x10 5 or 5.5" Backspacing 295/35/20

Pretty sure that's what Al is running. Assmuing yours is a Fleetside? 10" rear wheel should not be a problem on a Fleetside. Stepper, different ballgame.

Check out the last few pages for his new wheels. He said a 22x10 with 5.5" BS would have worked ..

Hope this helps. Later.

Re: 71 c10 offset

I hear some folks run 10" wheels on a step side, I just like a little more tire on the back. Section width of the tire I mean. So the tire is at least as wide or preferrably a little wider than the widest point of the wheel. It's just my taste. Nothing wrong with 10's on a step. I have seen it and it looks cool I just didn't want to cut or roll / mod my step fenders if I could help it.

I looked all over for good ones, .. I didn't have the cahones to cut them.

Pics of your truck? We'll help you out man.
Later.
