Could it be wheel bearings??????
I took my truck for a drive tonight to see how everything that was put in is working, and my number one problem is two noises. one, changes with speed, and is like a high pitched, almost rubbing sound, the other, is just a high pitched ringing sound, im thinking that its the wheel bearings because the main one does change with speed, what other problems could it be that change with speed? does anyone know of any??
Thanks. Need help!! |

Re: Could it be wheel bearings??????
Are the wheel bearing one of the things you were working on?

Re: Could it be wheel bearings??????
Might as well just go ahead and change the brakes, get the rotors turned, and put some new ones in.
That or just take it all apart and regrease them/replace just the bearings. Still trying to figure out your other problem, but that's requiring more coffee...

Re: Could it be wheel bearings??????
Why didn't I think of that. Too much into the bearings I guess.

However, I had the same weird noises.. thinking it was tire noise,(sometimes odd wearing tires make special noises too) I did change my wheel bearings, and that cured pretty much all of the noise...it's all metal you'll dealing with, and sound vibrations do have a way of resonating through everything... good luck... I would start with bearings..

Re: Could it be wheel bearings??????
How about just jack the truck up and spin one wheel at a time to try and see which one is/isn't making noise?
