72 SWB Step Side Build
Hey all. New to the board and just starting my first frame off resto on this sweet find. Wasn't even looking, kinda fell into my lap. Pics coming as soon as I figure ot how to post them. I will be leaning on the evident knowledge of the board a lot, I am sure.

I like the color Combo. Blue with White roof. Is it all original? Gotta get some full pics up

Re: 72 SWB Step Side Build
The only mods I know of are the shifter has been moved to the floor, speakers put in the doors and the radio updated and the seat recovered. This truck had the original owners manual still in the glove box in the the plastic wrapping. Oh and the hubcaps are from a 74.
I bought a tornado damaged 2000 model Z71 for the motor, tranny and interior. Hopefully the steering column will work along with a few other items. |

Re: 72 SWB Step Side Build
I'm thinking I need to change over to a 6 lug set up so I can use the rear chunk off the 2000 Z71 because it has disc brakes on it. What all is involved in the swap?
Guys, this is my very first resto so I will need some input from the experience of this board. thanks |

Re: 72 SWB Step Side Build
Guys, Would I be messing up going to a fleet. This truck is very very close to all original but I will not be restoring it to that condition. I just like the look of a fleet side better.

Re: 72 SWB Step Side Build
Good point Keith. I will just stick to the way I got it. There are some nice looking dropmember builds for me to refer to here and that's what I want to do.
