Pilot Bearing removal

What ticks do you have for removing a stubborn pilot bearing?

Re: Pilot Bearing removal

Fill the cavity with grease. Slide a dowel in that fits the ID and whack it with a hammer.

Re: Pilot Bearing removal

is it an actual bearing, or just a bushing? parts stores rent slide hammers with a busing removal attachment. you slide the arms in the bushing, tighten the nut to expand them, then slide hammer it right out. the grease method works too, but its more messy and takes longer.

Re: Pilot Bearing removal

Your right, it is a bushing. Not sure why it is listed as a "bearing".
