Re: WOW! Square body parts are going up.

I wondered how long it was going to take for that grille to be the talk on here. That was crazy! and to think that I sold the same stuff to Gary66 for $250.........DOH!!! Nos parts for our squares are bringing really good(crazy) money on alot of pieces, but it still seems to be hit and miss. One will go for 4, the next one for 2.

Re: WOW! Square body parts are going up.

Well I guess I jumped on the NOS train. I have been buying up all that I can for my project just because it fits way better then reproduction parts. I just picked up a Chrome and argent 73 nos grill and an 73 nos Tailgate off eBay. Earlier in the year I scored everything from the doors forward minus a hood for a 73.

NAH! it started with the Corvette NCRS guys a long time ago, even Corvair stuff was crazy at one time . i bet it eats a lot of the Corvette guys up that Chevelles and Camaros regularly bring more $ at auction then their primo Vettes. LMAO
ANYway what it comes down to is availibility and the desire to make your truck the nicest regardless of $. I saw trucks on here(forums) like Ken's and such that i would have paid that much for one of those dash bezels to make it correct, but there is nothing that nice in my neck of the woods. the Resto parts FINALLY got better for the musclecars and i guess SOME truck stuff did too, but the truck was B-A-D for the Chevy trucks. I Know how bad as i fixed many and live in the rust belt. Bid what your comfortable with and live with your decision. Happy New Year. Crossy

It's the same here. A few years back you could pick up a real decent one for $500, but for the last year or two I've been looking all over and it's hard to find one that runs for under 2000 and one that could be a daily driver with nice paint starts around 5000. It's been crazy recently.

Re: WOW! Square body parts are going up.

73-75 trucks go for considerably more money here in California due to all the smog regulations and now smog exempt being Locked at pre1976.

Re: WOW! Square body parts are going up.

I have a NOS swb bedside that I'd like to sell ($500),... but I don't want to ship it.
So that kills all deals.
I still think the 73-87 trucks are the "bargain" trucks to build right now.

Re: WOW! Square body parts are going up.

Fortunately where I live they are still pretty cheap. I traded an old beat up ford I got on trade for a 78 Swb gmc that was sitting on a car lot. After that I picked up another cab for the tilt column, another short bed that's near mint, four doors, three hoods two front clips, all rust free for 400$ and I paid too much. when its time to thin the herd ill have to give some of this crap away. K-5 blazers and burbs are a dime a dozen. There's a nice looking 79 blazer on Portland CL right now for 900. I'm fighting the phone, I swear its calling my name.
