Chrome headlight half-covers. Opinions
Bought these from Classic Ind. for $9 a set (I think). 60's hotrodders used them so they could run their highbeams without P.O.ing the police. They sit flush on the lights and are held on by the trim rings so they can be taken off and put back on easily. I think they are cool, what do you guys think.

Yep, they are 60's vintage. I remember seeing them on cars back then.

On your truck with a clean chrome grille, I like them. When someone throws them on a patina truck with a crusty grille, they look kinda outta place.

I have them on my truck, I think they look cool. They're nine bucks a pair from LMC.

Those things are lame. Look like crap and they make the headlights less functional.
I wouldn't have said anything but you asked for opinions... |

Re: Chrome headlight half-covers. Opinions
They make your truck look stoned, lol.
I don't think they look bad, and they can be easily removed if you drive at night and find that your headlights are impaired. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Chrome headlight half-covers. Opinions
I was thinking about getting a set for my truck, my neighbor has them on his 70 and they look sweet. I would just worry about the cops as stated above.

What cop is gonna wait 2 minutes for you to take 'em off after you get pulled over?

That is what I thought, or tired. Check the local laws, see what they say. I have been thinking about them also, but I have single headlight system.

Re: Chrome headlight half-covers. Opinions
Thanks for all the input, that's why I love this forum. The plan is to run these during the day and take them off at night. They are different, that's why I like them.

Re: Chrome headlight half-covers. Opinions
I would check and see what the law says. If they're legal in your area and you like em, put em on your ride.
If a cop gives you any trouble, tell him to stick it!

Re: Chrome headlight half-covers. Opinions
I used to use these on some of my cars/trucks in the past but what I didn't like about them is they are cheap a$$ chrome and you'll be polishing every other day to keep up with rust. Eventually, the rust wins. Tip: paint the back side to keep it from rusting.
I would like to find them in polished stainless but haven't so far so won't bother buying anymore. In all my years of using these in the past, I never got pulled over and I never heard of these being a problem or not legal. I don't recall having any lighting issues either. On a side note, I did get pulled over for having fuzzy dice on my mirror once. ![]() P.S. I doubt you'll want to install in the day, remove at night with these. You'll have to loosen the headlight retaining ring to do so. That will get old very fast! ![]()
