1949 CHevy Pick up Spark plug wires?????
Guys, I can't find any local places to pick up a set of Spark plug wires for my 49 pick up with an original straight 6 216 engine. Guess I have to to the internet. Any suggestions on a company to buy parts from? THanks

Unless you are dead set on an oem style set you can pick up a universal set of wires at most any parts house. You want the 7mm all black wires and boots.
Chevs of the 40's has a set that has the appearance of being original but you still have to trim them to fit. http://www.chevsofthe40s.com/detail/...REE_BOOTS.html |

Re: 1949 CHevy Pick up Spark plug wires?????
NAPA in Arlington MA was able to get my stuff including the wires. I went over there and paid and the parts are ready for me today. Thanks for the feedback guys. Next question is where to send my carb for rebuild or buy new?

I say get a rebuild kit, which is pretty cheap, and do the rebuild yourself. You'd be surprised how simple these old 1 barrels are. And if you do mess up or get lost - you're only out a couple bucks.
Most classic truck parts companies have them - Brother's, LMC, Classic Parts...

Re: 1949 CHevy Pick up Spark plug wires?????
Already dropped the carb off to be rebuilt along with the generator. Live and learn. I hope its not way exoensive - the guy at the shop here in Medford MA said it shouldnt be that expensive. I will let you guys know the final price for each.
I just removed the bed from my 49 project and disassebled it into the 4 main pieces. It has some cancer but is definitely repairable with some sheet metal work. I'd hate to scrap it. Do you guys know if these parts sell? Pat |
