Talking gas tank

i was wondering if it just me or does the stock gas tank behind the seat waste gas faster the first half then the second half because its slimmer on top

Theoretically the upper section of the tank no doubt does get consumed faster than the lower half for the reason you stated, it simply holds a smaller volume of gas.

In reality, the perceived speed of usage at the gauge probably has more to do with how the float in the sending unit is set. I’ve had tanks that stayed on full until nearly empty and then dropped like a rock, while others showed completely linear gas consumption. If your gauge is indicating more gas is available in the smaller part of the tank, you probably have unusually accurate calibration on your sender.
