Man I need some Column help..

(Auto Column shift)

Okay so I put in a new turn signal switch and a few other things. Right now I'm trying to get my shifter to release the mechanism ( The Gate on the outside of the firewall) correctly. For some reason when I put my shift lever it pulls the slide housing fine but doesnt not release it enough.

So was the ball on the end of the shifter handle suppose to pivot on the main steering column shaft? I've looked at blow up's and it seams I didn't loose anything. Please help

This is a crappy picture of shifter coming through the column to the shaft if I mount with out the dowel pin

And here it is when I mount the shift level completely. Notice the ball does not come through and touch the shaft. If this is the way it's supposed to be it seams I have hardly any tension on the shift lever

Thanks

Chuck

make sure the main steering shaft is centered when testing, you may have to remount the steering wheel to ensure this.
