New Project truck, need help with a name
i have finally got my truck that i have been so badly waiting to get. '70 custom 10 swb. straight from where she originally came of the dealer lot in stuttgart, ar. made it home no prob. im in need of help for a good name for her, so id like as many inputs as possible to name her. and question to anyone, i havent decoded the vin # yet, but did these trucks come with a powerglide by chance? it has a t350 in it now, but the column has P R N D L, so im wondering if it was a powerglide truck. its a 6 lug, minor minor rust, small block 350. runs good, but she is fixing to get a beefed 355 soon or 383, and change the 12 bolt rearend from non posi 307 to 373. any comments are welcome. the hood spears were a special thing that the dealer did to trucks he sold. they are getting pulled off and rechromed......not a bad deal for $950?!

Great looking truck!
My '69 swb has a powerglide in it. Did you look on the SPID sheet that's located on the glovebox door? If that's original to the truck,... it should give you alot of answers to the originality of evrything. We need more pics!

How about project "Jealous" because I know I am, and I probably won't be the only one jealous on here after seeing you score a great looking shortbox for $950.

Re: New Project truck, need help with a name
asked the owner what he wanted for it, he said make an offer, i offered $1000 he said ok, he also had a 46 ford truck that he said if i found someone to buy it anything over the $600 he had paid for it would go towards the c10, he got 650 for it. so i got the cash together and drove her home friday afternoon, windows down, glasspacks roarin, fighting the sloppy steering, and loving it the entire time. ive got plans for it. ive lined up a built 350/t350 to replace the existing 350/t350, 60 series tires, new ball joints, etc, its a non posi 12bolt, so ill put 373 posi gear in it, and then i want to keep it 6lug, ill buy the disc kit for up front. it has a few dime and quarter size holes in floor board, little damage to a fender, and the bumpers are rough. so ill replace them and be good to go, maybe buff the paint till i can afford a new paint job. oh and replace the rear sliding glass with a solid one. 72lsk10, are you building a prerunner? guessing due to the front tube bumper and your in cali.

Re: New Project truck, need help with a name
BTW, what is the difference between the Custom 10's and the cheyanne? there is a truck identical to mine, other than he has the blue with white center paint, and its a clean truck. i can imagine anything more than interior upgrades? i have an a/c cab with all the r12 still intact.
