Question 80s suburban doors on a 79 Truck ???

So i got these 80s suburban doors but no hinges off the doors of the suburban, and my 79 hinges will not fit the 80 subrban doors.

So my ? is if i buy the hinges for the 80s doors will it fit my 79 truck body bolt hole ?
is there any way i can make these doors fit my 79 ?

LMC has two kind of hinges to buy from

Thanks for the info,

That does not make any sense, i put a set of doors on my 77 that came off of a 1990 GMC jimmy, and the 77 hinges bolted right on with no problems. Doors fit like a champ. Are you sure you didnt get the hinges mixed up while swapping them, the tops and bottoms?

Looking at LMC page it lists door hinges for 73-87 items 5 and 6, an upper lh, upper rh, lower lh and lower rh, so what are you refering to as a 70's and 80's style, its only one style that i see.

Same here, got burb doors from a '89 and they bolted right to my '78 hinges. I think he might of got the top and bottom ones mixed up or something.

Why don't you think they will fit? The hinges never changed.

Like everyone else, I'm failing to see why they won't just bolt on.

Re: 80s suburban doors on a 79 Truck ???

The doors will bolt up, don't worry...once you remove your old doors, you will see....sometimes it's hard to see when things are still on the truck bolted up.

I have mid 80's doors on my 73...and am using my stock 73 hinges

I will warn you, the 81+ doors are about 1/4" narrower...so the gap between the fender and door will be slightly wider than it was from the factory (if you are putting newer doors on a 73-80). Actually bugs me looking at my 73, but I can't do anything about it now.

Re: 80s suburban doors on a 79 Truck ???

I've always heard about the doors being narrower, but never seen in person.

I put 84 doors on a 77 with orig 77 hinges

I think the wiring pass through is throwing your persepctive off. It'll bolt up.
