Question about my panel gas tank

Hey all,

I'm getting prepared to clean my panel tank up, so I can install it in my truck. I was wondering if it's going to be a pain to remove the nuts that hold the filler neck to the tank? I would assume the studs that the nuts are threaded onto are welded to the tank?? I'm going to soak the nuts down with PB Blaster for a day or two before I even try to remove them.

Thanks for anything.

LOL!
Actually a guy in our rad shop did this recently.
We take fuel tanks from other shops so they can be properly disposed of. We rinse them out for a 1/2 hr or so with the steam cleaner and then use the torch and cut them in 1/2. Well, we picked one up, and some one placed it in the wrong area of the radiator shop, and it was assumed that it had been rinsed and drained. Doung light the torch, started to heat that sucker up, and BOOM!
He ended up getting stiches on his inner thighs, and a couple in his scrotum. That was about it. He got lucky. DAMN lucky.
Now a tank will not get cut onless it has a large bright orange spray painted circle on the top of it.
