Re: 72 c10 speaker ideas

I have 6.5" mids in custom kick panels, 3.5" highs in the center dash, 1" tweet in the door, 6.5" mids in the upper corner of the rear and 2 10" subs + 2 amps behind the seats. I made custom pods for the door tweets, I didn't want to cut the bottom of my doors. Most of my stuff will be well hidden unless you know what you are looking for. Ton of pics in my build thread.

I personally don't like to put amps under seats. Poor venting and usually limited clearance.

Re: 72 c10 speaker ideas

after looking at it, think the amp will mount passenger side behind seat were jack was and one 6x9.... then some door speakers and a small sub box in front of seat tucked half under the seat since seat will never be pulled forward..... like 6 1/2 subs or 8's... think it will sound good enough for a young kids that is 16 soon...... cause I am thinking it will be a few months before we tackle moving the tank to the rear out of the cab

Re: 72 c10 speaker ideas

If you can't put 2 6x9's (one on each side) back there, do don't it...it would be off balanced.

2 fairly decent speakers in the door with an amp will be fine. I feel custom kicks are the best route, but I'm no purist so cutting the doors is actually the easiest. I know it's possible to fit a 10" sub under the bench...my neighbor's cousin has a 67 with a 10" sub under the bench. It sounds really nice too. The sub is under the passenger side and the amp is under the driver.

I've mounted most of my amps underneath the seats of my rides. Not ideal, but if you're not overloading the amp, it's fine.
