I have a SBC 400 with MT valve covers. The problem I am having is the breather is leaking. I put a PCV valve on the left cover and plumbed it into the carb. What can I do to stop the other one from leaking oil out?

When you say left side I don`t see it I`m assuming you mean the right side, is the breather cap on the right solid with no holes...anwhere in it besides the PVC valve / line...?

Is the baffle plate in place on the inside?

I think he means left side of engine as if you were sitting inside. From the pic you can see where the oil is leaking and burning off on the exhaust manifold. I agree with Captainfab and check for baffle in valve cover.

Yeah, a good PCV valve and good baffling on the inside of the valve cover, below the breather port, should prevent this sort of thing.

I do not believe there was a baffle plate in either cover. That would probably make all the difference. Thanks.
