Axle swaps questions.

So I'm gonna be swappin axles on my old 60 K10, Plans are to throw a early 70s vintage open knuckel disc brake heavy hub 44 up front and an HO72 with a Detroit in the rear.

My questions concern the steering. I want to retain the original manual gearbox but was wondering how you guys have coupled the newer style steering arm on the axle to the old style box. Is a special draglink needed or is it a bolt up deal? Also what will be needed in the way of a proportioning valve for the brakes? I want to keep it non power. My Idea is to keep it original as possible but to be able to get front brake and U joint parts easily.

One more question what series joint did chevy use on the Front and rear shafts on the 60's 4x4's?
