Seat year ID

Hoping someone can ID the year of this seat/cover.

It was in my 74' but the original owner said the cover was replaced by GM (under warranty) "a year or two" after he bought the truck new. You can tell its an original GM seat cover as the construction quality is incredible.

I am having custom upholstery done so I need to know what year to advertise this cover as (knowing it fits likely 73-87 seats of course).

thanks folks.

Re: Seat year ID

With those buttons, I would say that it is somewhere in the 75-78 range. That would make sense since the owner says it was replaced in '76, the dealership I'm sure wouldn't have kept around upholstery from 73-74 so they would've used what they had in stock for current models.

Re: Seat year ID

Did your 74' Have the same buttons Rob?

If it is a 74' cover I may keep it in case someone wants to put the truck back to original, but I thought the same as Corts that the dealer would have installed whatever was available that year.

The original owner bought the truck while living in Canada (it was built and sold in Oshawa) then later moved to Ohio where I bought it from. He owned a 71 Cheyenne Super that he traded in on this truck because he liked the "new" grille so much more, he bought another black Cheyenne Super.

By the way, what year was the folding seat back first available ??? 74 first year?
