Plastic piece right under the vent window for the screw

Hey guys. Does anyone know where to get or buy the plastic "washer thing" that goes under the vent window and that the screw sits in to hold the inner and outer door frames together to keep from seperating? Aftermarket or original ones that aren't chipped or cracked bad would be great.
Any help would greatly be appreciated.

those pieces could very well be the most sought after part on the boards. all i can tell you is to keep an eye out on the classifieds, i finally got a set after 2 years of searching, just gotta be in the right place at the right time

you would think that someone would repop them

2 years! Wow. I actually have a 72 with the screw recess but my passenger door must be a aftermarket or cutdown truck door (cause there is no hole under the vent window.) and the inner and outer shell is spread a little. I was hoping to find some to fix the problem with the passenger door and also make both doors match. Any other ideas?

if you have a differant year door, you will have to drill it, all the way thru to the inner flange to accept a #8 or # 10 sheet metal screw. then put a thread clip over the inner flange. on the inside door, you will have to open the hole up to accept the plastic grommet piece, plus indent it with large center punch. now you have to search for a long sheet metal screw with a small counter sunk head ( home depot)

let me look tomorrow, i might have an extra plastic grommet...dunno (old age)

Ya that was my plan to drill them out. Ok cool. If you would be willing to part with it Maybe I could make a mold of one Woth your extra.

Plastic? Mine were chrome, metal; and about 1/2" deep.

Those ones in the pic with the metal bushing are correct for the 72 doors (trucks and blazers) the plastic grommet ones are correct for 69-71 blazers only. Does anyone know if the hole in the door that the plastic bushing goes in will accept the metal bushing? And vice versa? Or is the diameter between the two bushing different? Or maybe the hole in the door is a different shape?

I'm wondering cause on my 72 blaze the driver door is correct with the steel bushing but the passenger door has no hole at all (wich means my passenger door is a cut down truck door or an aftermarket door) and showing some seperation. I want to fix the the problem and make the doors match so I will drill and add a screw on the passenger side. I figured it would be easier to make both sides the same by putting the plastic bushing on both sides ( I know it's not 72 correct) what are your thoughts on this everyone?

Dont believe the 69 to 71 have that screw, believe it is correct to 72's only. I had two correct Blazer doors for my 71 and didn't have them.

I've researched this a bunch from other threads and the Internet and I've heard some peaple say how there original 69, 70, or 71 blazer didn't have door screws and I've also heard some peaple say that there's did have door screws. From my research I've found there are two types of screw "bushings" one is a metal type and one is a plastic type. I do know that all doors (both trucks and blazers) in '72 had the screw below the vent window and used the metal "bushing". These 72 "bushings" and screw head were recessed in the door so they wouldnt stick out past the door shell.

Now as for the plastic "bushings" from what I've found is they were used on 69-72 blazers only and were never used on truck doors. The plastic "bushings" also stick out a bit from the door. My understanding is that if there is no screw on your blazer door you proly have a cut down truck door or after market door. But it is a possibility that some assembly plants didn't or did put them in the door. Or maybe stock was low for the "bushing" so they didn't put in the hole.

I hope this helped, I'll try to find some pics of the different "bushings"

This is what i've found to be true from my research and I could be wrong but If anyone has more or better info feel free to give more input.
