Hey guys,

I was surfing craigslist last night and found either on the Sioux Falls craigslist or South Dakota craigslist a guy has a 61 Chevy Crew Cab step side for sale with title.

I can't get the link right now as I am at work but I will update later unless some one else finds it and posts.

It looks like an original from back in the day to me

You referring to this one in Forestburg? That body looks pretty rough on that one.

That one has been for sale for a long time, 6 months at least. From what people on the board have said it's pretty rough.

Yeah, it's been there for quite a while. With that price and with the body in that shape, it's no bargain.

Just needs donor hood, front fenders, fleetside bed, maybe front doors, and probably re-skin the back doors, custom rockers, and all of the standard rust repair.

well its like this some place around here you just aint going to find a crew cab unless you build it which may be a better option. but around here all the floors are usually gone an the front windshield areas are a common thing. probly could buy it for 1500 or so

If someone is good with metal, that would be the one to get, most of the crews dont have a full size bed and that is the first 61 I have ever seen, along with the first c30 I have seen.

I agree, if a person had the talent and equipment to do their own fabrication then it would not be out of the realm of possibility. I would still let the price drop a bit more though.

been talking to this guy a little, sent me a lot of pics. it is pretty rough. but still i am still interested. so, we'll see what happens!

My reply was partly funny and partly serious. If a guy wants a crew cab, and especially with a 6' bed, this might not be a bad way to go if the price is right. My truck was not as bad, but I still ended up doing everything to it that this one needs. In the end, my cab shell with replaced floor and rockers, and the frame, are the only thing that I have left from when I started, and it's a regular cab.

if the price was lower all you really need to salvage off that is the roof ,center pillars, and rear doors, the rest could built using a cab and another truck.
