ANyone know if different spring rates deteriorate handling?

I was wondering if you put 2.5 inch drop spindles with stock springs, and 4" drop springs on the the back, if the handling of the truck is compromised because of the difference between the ride quality of the two. For those of you that have this setup, do you notice anything in terms of ride quality or squirrely handling? Your input would be appreciated.

Re: ANyone know if different spring rates deteriorate handling?

Mine seems to be better.Of course that may be because the left front spring came out in 3 pieces.the overall handling should be better due to a lower center of gravity. The ride on mine is some better, though I still need to trim the rear bumstops der to some bottoming on hard bumps.I haven't done the shock relo in the rear yet either.I will also be adding a sway bar.I did new tires and wheels and only drove it a few hundred miles before doing a PS swap so that changed it even more.It did seem better after the suspension work but with new BJ's,tie rod ends.springs, brakes, wheels and tires,I would have been surprised if it didn't.

Re: ANyone know if different spring rates deteriorate handling?

I had that setup on my longbed 1/2 ton without a front stabilizer and it handled pretty good and rode soft. That was with a big block and new big block (3/4 ton) springs. Now it's a short bed with 5" drop springs in the back, shock relocator kit, adj track bar, 3/4 ton front stabilizer and a half coil cut off the front springs. Should ride a little stiffer but handle a whole lot better in the turns. You should by happy with what your planning I think.
