outer cowl panel mods
Has anyone made any mods to the outer cowl panel? Was curious if it could be closed up or made different. What's the main purpose for it?? I either need a new one or modify the one I have (bent up), so just curious. Thanks!

Re: outer cowl panel mods
The cowl lets fresh air into the vents in the kick panels. I have smoothed one out in the past. I filled the vents and the antenna hole. If you don't use the vents you don't need the fresh air coming in. It looked really good with a smooth transition from the hood up to the windshield.
Good Luck. |

Re: outer cowl panel mods
I never use them and plan to plug them, so I might just close off the cowl too. Thanks!

Re: outer cowl panel mods
I was kind of wondering the same thing. My inner cowl is shot, and rather than fix it, I was thinking of plugging up the holes for the vent. If I do this, then I do not need to worry about fixing the inner cowl, right? The area where it closes off is all rusted out.

Re: outer cowl panel mods
I would say just get rid of the rust or convert it and close the cowl up. It's what I plan on doing. Mine is all bent up, so I will just cut it out and weld new metal in to replace it.
