Wheel Time
Time to order wheels and tires and need some help. Flat black 67 GMC with 6 lugs, should I go chrome, satin black or machined silver. I'm also trying to decide 17x9 front 18x9 rear or 18x9 front 20x9 rear. Any suggestions. I'm looking at the Level 8 Strike 6 wheels from Discount Tire.

Re: Wheel Time
hmm. I guess I'm not gonna really help answer your quesiton when I say - GO STEELIES! With a flat black truck, how's about some simple, gloss off white steelies, with or without poverty caps. Or, perhaps, gloss black with poverty caps - that also looks good (to me).
Of the three options you mentioned - I would think that chrome or machined silver would look like you put nice wheels on an unfinished truck - whereas, satin black would look like finished wheels on a truck that is finished also. Glss black might also be an option. |

Re: Wheel Time
Just about anything from Discount Tire or other national chains will be for the late model 6 lug trucks and SUV's. I will bet you dollars to dog crap that the rims you mentioned will have the smaller center hole and a fairly high offset/backspacing which may cause some interference issues with the front control arms.
If your truck is flat black because you're going for the "traditional" hot rod look....I tend to think that traditional hot-rod wheels look best like Steelies, Rally's, Slots, Cragars, Daisy 200's, Torq-Thrusts, etc.... If it's the color it is 'cause it was a quick and cheap way to cover up whatever is underneath until you can afford a better paint job....then I would pick something that fits your overall vision of what you want your ride to look like. Lastly, if you go with the bigger rims, definately go 18/20 or even 20/20.

Re: Wheel Time
I don't think I'll have a fit problem. I've got a buddy from high school that's an assistant manager and hes helping me track down wheels that I can afford, they don't list for the 67 but they do list for the 70's and 80's k5 blazer so I should be able to bolt right up.
