installing 72 cab marker lights

I am restoring 72 pickup that had marker lights and found a replacement cab that did not. After some scratching of the head I decided to cut out the lights off the original cab and weld them into the new cab. here are some pictures.

Sounds like a lot of work but it looks like the end result came out good. I would like to have cab lights on my '70.

Keep up the good work!

Re: installing 72 cab marker lights

It was, but i am so happy that I did it. It is one option that I am glad my dad went for. this was my dads truck and he gave it to me when I was 16. Thanks for replying

Re: installing 72 cab marker lights

That's a great job you did. A little scary, huh? I bought a cab light cab to put on one of the three K/20s I had. I'm down to one now and want cab lights on it. I didn't look at how the cowl on the cab I bought had rust and am now thinking I'll stay with the cab on the truck and cut into the other for the lights. I figured on doing the whole top but now may consider your method knowing what your results are.

It was unnerving. Make sure you do not allow cut-off wheel to sink too far or it will cut into interior roof. Good Luck
