install instructions for swing away spare tire carrier?

I just got mine in parts and was seeing if anyone had original install instructions or if someone could just tell me how.

I've never seen any instructions, but I whould think it is fairly straight forward. If you hold it up to the truck, it should fit in a certain spot. Mark where to drill the holes and then put the brackets up inside the bed for the threads. Make sure you put the tailgate attachment on when you're holding it up to the truck so you know it is in the right place.

Well the tire carrier i got doesnt have the brackets. I assume that this is going to be something hard to find as 1. its aftermarket and 2. people dont usually sell one without the other, except for in my case. I think i am going to have to fab some up unless you have heard of somewhere to just buy the brackets themselves.

that's the hard part. Several years ago, I loaned a set brackets (I no longer have them) to a board member so he could have a set reproduced. The costs were too $$ because the brackets both had compound angles. In the end, he found a set.

I'd suggest becoming a subscribing member and posting a "wanted to buy" thread.

They would be easy to make. I have two Swing aways that I bought some years ago one with and one without brackets. I found a extra set of brackets later. I could probably produce a set by hand in a 2-4 hours.....Which might make them cost prohibitive to most people as you could buy a complete one for the same money or less.

straight time and materials. $100 to $200 bucks. Hand made stuff @ shop rate is expensive.
