glasspack question

i installed an 8 inch glasspack and just tested it out, i like the sound but im curious about the popping, i only tested it in park and im really wanted some loud popping or cracking on decel, would it most likely do it when driving it just didnt in park? and do all glasspacks do it or is there a larger pipe diameter needed or something?
Just wondering.
Thanks.

Re: glasspack question

My 72 is running glasspacks no popping what-so-ever. Mine are larger than 8 inches...not sure the exact measruements. From doing a quick yahoo search it seems thr popping is common, but is reduced with larger packs. Im not too familiar with glasspacks in general so I would be curious if the popping settles out after some use.

Re: glasspack question

Does the muffler dump underneath or do you have pipes out the back? I think the trick is to have tail pipes around 2 1/4" to get that classic popping sound.

Re: glasspack question

its going to sounds different when you are in gear, put in it second (so it wont shift up when you let of the gas) and get the rpms up then let off. then see if she pops
