brake caliper rant
if you are buying remanufactured brake calipers and your old banjo bolt is to small in diameter to bolt your brake line to the caliper you will probably need to get a banjo bolt from a 71-76 gm fullsize car.
i purchased 2 sets of remaned callipers from different auto parts stores and spent 4 days trying to find the correct banjo bolts to fit when i finally called my friend who collects 71-76 gm cars and asked him what size banjo bolts they had and by golly answered my 4 day question with a 2 second phone call. the bolt i ended up using was a 2" 7/16"x 20 also the banjo ends on the new brake hoses are thicker than the stock ones thus giving you less evposed threads on the bolt. ill tell you i could have choked someone but its the remanufactures fault not the parts stores.

Re: brake caliper rant
7/16-20 is the correct banjo bolt for the 71-79(?) truck caliper.
I believe in 80-81 they went to a 10mm metric banjo bolt. What size were you trying to use?

Re: brake caliper rant
i had a set of calipers from a 76 and an 85 both had 3/8"x 20 bolts that didnt have metric head markings. someone could have put metric calipers on my 76 doner pickup but the parts store didnt even list or carry a different size banjo bolt than i had

Re: brake caliper rant
The guy behind the counter was too busy wondering if your truck "had A/C and an automatic transmission". Ha.

Re: brake caliper rant
lol so correct. to make it worse the 76 doner truck had a diesel in it, that really though them for a loop

Re: brake caliper rant
Had you provided the correct wattage of the light bulb in the glove box, the counter kid who can't spell BMW would have tied it all together & provided the correct part on day 1.
