Thumbs up flex plate problems

Ihae installed a 283 with a 700r4 trans in my 63fleetside swb. I bought a 168 tooth flex plate and put it onto the motor, bolted the trans to the motor, and now none of the holes in the flex plate will line up to fasten the torque converter.Anyone out there had this problem, or know what I might do?
The flex plate came from a CarQuest store, they say it is the correct part#and the only one for this application.

You`ll probably need to go thru summit, to get a dual pattern flexplate.....

You can drill holes for the mounting bolts. Make them a little larger then the bolts to allow for error & use a flange bolt. The alignment is done by the center of the TQ in the crank. Its a good idea to check that before you assemble it.

Like Rich said would be the best solution. I bought mine from Summit and it was universal - fit many classifications. Besides they were the Cheapest....

Does the flexplate have 6 holes in it for the torque converter? If so, there are 2 different hole patterns there. There should be one set of 3 holes that line up.

If they carry pioneer products the FRA100 is a dual pattern flywheel , the fra 113 is not , it has 6 holes but they are all the same pattern..A Scat FP350 has both patterns for the torque converter.... Was there a number on the flywheel you got ???
