CL Find 1960 GMC Suburban
Needs a home! Someone on this site so we can watch it evolve! Snot mine
It`s got the Custom Deluxe moldings on it, wonder what other options and accessories it`s got. Say`s it has the seats in it. http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/2766149312.html Last edited by aerotruk63; 01-18-2012 at 04:16 PM. |

Re: CL Find 1960 GMC Suburban
On the road to pick it up now with my cousin! Ever since I got mine he has been itching to get going on one. We live 2 blocks from each other and he is truly like a brother to me. This is going to be fun!

Re: CL Find 1963 GMC Suburban
Yeah it was super straight. Hopefully he can get the engine to fire up tomorrow. It had some crazy stuff with it too. The custom trim on the sides, the trim around the front window, an installed Stewart Warner motor minder gauge, wood interior on dash and door sidings (guessing not on original option), a cool fly fisherman on a side window, front seat (missing small jump seat), far back seat, great chrome, grill, front and back bumpers look great, and two gas tanks!
I will be helping him out with the middle seat but if anyone knows of a front jump seat for sale please let us know. On to the pictures. |

Re: CL Find 1960 GMC Suburban
Nice score and I dig the Motor Minder Vacuum gauge as well! Congratulations.
Does it have the V-6 still?

Re: CL Find 1960 GMC Suburban
Well didn't that just work out fine!
66 GMC hubcaps on the front. Will he be putting steels with caps or going to a different wheel? These I believe are close for the 63 Suburban. |

Re: CL Find 1960 GMC Suburban
Maybe this is dumb question but I've never seen a gauge panel like this one has with the 3 big round gauges. Is it a GMC thing or because it is a Custom Suburban? Are they rare?

Re: CL Find 1960 GMC Suburban
Never a dumb question on this site, the answers on the other hand! lol
Suburban or pickups, it was a deluxe option though I have no other literature on how to order it. |

Re: CL Find 1960 GMC Suburban
He is going to get some whitewalls on there and try and get two more matching GMC caps.

Re: CL Find 1960 GMC Suburban
BTW did GMC ever have a location on their vehicles to show colors? We found the VIN and the tag showing gross weight but could find nothing more?

Re: CL Find 1960 GMC Suburban
So far, I've haven't seen any plates with the original color codes on the GMC's. Just the Serial #'s. I've owned two, one owner GMC's.
Also, I noticed the clear lens' on the hood which do not look like they have been replaced ever and are a '62 only thing. Maybe it was not sold during that year and they sold it as a '63 the next year?
