wiring harness/firewall question
I've decided to go ahead and go with new wiring for my 72 .i think im going with painless and just wondering does the firewall mount cover the existing oe cut out or should i patch it. i havent ordered anything yet just thought i'd get a head start. thanks for any help

I believe you will have to widen it just a little...they include a template for you to use in the kit....I think they have the installation manual online for you to look at as well...the template is in there...here you go...http://www.painlessperformance.com/Manuals/10206.pdf page #24 check the part number you are using and find the correct manual

I put one in my truck about a year ago, and yes you will need to make the hole bigger. I would suggest soldering and use heat shrink tubes on all connections.

FYI...if you have your old harness, be sure to keep it....you'll need a couple of the connectors that are not supplied with the painless kit...

If its going to be totally stock I'd consider a kit from AAW or M&H wiring.

My .02, save the money, buy the cheaper kit from speedway, use all your factory switches, and run the wires where the can't be seen...
