355 Build Advice

Hey Guys,

I'm getting everything together to build a nice running and sounding
355 for my 69' Cst10. I picked up a 350 block that is .30 over, Line bored,
Decked, Lined bored with new cam bearings and freeze plugs. Along with that, a set of 906 64cc vortec heads that have been rebuilt. And an Air Gap intake.

I have been looking at a complete rotating assembly and don’t know which
one to go with. I don’t want to go cheap but don’t want to go too expensive...
And a nice sounding cam that is good off the line (1800 - 6000?).

Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks!

Re: 355 Build Advice

Google "355 Budget build", "355 Vortec Build", etc. Most of the popular magazines have done what you are tying to do and provide dyno numbers with parts lists.

If your questioning the issue of buying a rotating assembly or building yourself.... you should go with the built short block.
