1964 GMC flatbed
My great grandfather bought in new in 64. Was a 3/4 ton. 305 v6, sm420. My great uncle had it and sold it sometime in the 80's. My dad found it in 2005 and bought it for $300. It had been sitting at a warehouse and they'd throw cans in the back and haul them off every few months. Started instantly, ran smooth but had mismatched height tires on back, that were bald. We keep it on the farm for a while, I drove it to high school once. Back brakes are sticking and the carb needs rebuilt now. I've finally fount some one piece rims and have pulled the carb off. Ill start taking more pictures from here on out.

Great story...what are your current plans for it? Just get it going and drive it? Thanks for sharing your truck and its story with us.

Re: 1964 GMC flatbed
Get new tires on, rebuild the stromberg, and fix the brakes. Drive it some, fix the body slowly as I go.
Eventually build a new bed, convert it to a disk brake 4x4 front axle, paint it flambo red. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 1964 GMC flatbed
Heres a few pictures. Tore it down in the living room floor last night. I need some chemical gloves, Ill get some today and dip it. Look like we may have to weld a crack in the housing up. Its nice being able to take something apart with one screwdriver and one wrench.

Re: 1964 GMC flatbed
Rain needs to stay away. Carb is back soaking. I've been pondering ideas about having my grandma letter the door.
