Whats the Value of this truck

Even so, 30K miles on a farm are hard miles. Hows it look underneath? All the cab supports, mounts etc. in good shape? Also, check the bolt channels inside the rear wheel well tubs. A truck doesn't necessarily have to be moving all its life to rust out.

There shouldn't a M or D in the VIN?...

I ran into this problem myself, well not the M part. M does stand for V6 gasoline, and the OD stands for wide side pickup bed (fleetside), which seems to be a GMC only code.

30k miles in 35 years and needed to be repainted?? Come on.

Ever heard of the sun? I will add on to the list of ppl who have bought their GMC 3/4 ton 4x4 from a farm, only mine was in Minnesota. it had about 82k, was used to pull a trailer with tractors on it, which explains the pintle hitch. the sun took a beating on the paint, somewhere along the line they did a farmhand repaint on it, and they actually made it look worse than it was before. they also went a little nuts with bondo in the little dings on the bedsides. funny thing is, my dashpad is in mint shape. hmm.

My 71 4x4 has 60,000 miles, and it isn't a farm truck, the motor has never been apart, I found a good way to tell if your truck has more miles than it might say, I took my truck in to get one back spring rearched, and the spring man took the leaf apart, and said to me this must be a low mileage truck, I said why do you ask, he said you see where theses leafs over lap each other, on a higher mileage truck the end of the leaf wears a good size groove in the leaf above it, theses are like new, and they have never been out

That V6 will run forever. You really can't break them. They're modified from a diesel design and everything in them is super heavy-duty. I had one in a 66 GMC and it got 14 mpg uphill or downhill, load or no load.

I don't know exactly how many miles my truck has on it but I do know that I have only put about 13-14K miles on it in the approximately 18 years that I have had it. It was an old truck when I got it and I bought it just to be a 3rd vehicle - sort of a backup and junk hauler locally. I have had it as far as 200 miles from home but only twice in that 18 years. Mostly it sits - outside- and the paint has about had it just from age. Low low miles is not impossible but one should look real real close for signs to justify the claim.
