ID Restorer? 50 GMC P/U Near Washington MO abt 1990

I bought this on Ebay several years ago from a Judge in Washington MO. My understanding is it was restored around 1990 by a local. Obviously a complete tear down from all the pics given to me. The truck originally came from McKittrick, MO - Pop. 65

I'd like to contact the restorer regarding the engine restoration as I have been adding lead to the tank to be on the safe side and if I don't need to, I dont want to waste the money. Based on the pictures the individual was maybe in his early 20s and lived in a ranch style house in a neighborhood

Anybody recognize the work and know how I can contact the restorer?

that's 22 years ago!I doubt you will find him, In fact pretty much Impossible.And if you did he probably doesn't remember.The only way you can find out for sure is take the head off.if the head was rebuilt in 1990 it probably had hard valve seats installed.That said Nice truck! It doesn't look like it gets driven much.

i run new gas in old cars and never had a problem ..now if your gonna run like 30thousand miles a year ,,then you might want to change the valve seats ,,sometimes you can pull the exhaust manifold off and see in there with a flash light on a sunny day ,

Keep in mind that lead free gas has been around since 1915. Amoco Premium never ever had lead in it and was first available in 1915. My Dad owned and operated an Amoco (first it was American) gas station for many years.

A lot of cars and trucks ran Amoco premium for years and years with no issues at all.

Amoco fuels are now available at BP branded stations.
