Custom Trim Install

How difficult would it be getting the measurements to where the holes are for a Custom trim install on a Standard Cab? Has anyone ever done this, or is this frowned upon, and the very thought of disgusting?

Re: Custom Trim Install

My truck did not have the custom side trim, but It has been drilled for it now, something like 88 holes. The "1960-1966 Chev/GMC Truck Factory Assembly Instruction Manual" has prints for it. It made it much easier to know what to do. I already had it at the body shop when I decided to go this route, so I had them do it rather than me do it after it's painted and risk damaging the paint. He did a good job, but I hate paying someone to drill holes for me. I also bought the trim from MAR-K and it's very nice.

Re: Custom Trim Install

IMHO most owners would consider this an upgrade. Our trucks aren't in the same restoration league as early Corvettes. Most of these trucks receive some level of modification, except for the few unrestored, mint condition original trucks out there.
