If its a R/V series 1 ton it will work (square bodies were R and V series from 87-91) The new 88-00 took over C/K in 88.

Re: 1981 parts

R/V cab & chassis were made through '89 (the last single cab square body)

R/V were made thru 91 if you include Blazers, suburbans and Crews, all same front sheet metal from back to 81.

Re: 1981 parts

There were 2 door regular cab square body pickups in 1988 model year equipped as a 4x4 dually only. My 1988 V30 was built at the Janesville, WI plant in May 1988. The 2 door regular cab is mentioned in the 1988 showroom brochure text and pic below.

That's right. I was talking about the last regular cab being the '89 Cab & Chassis. The last regular cab pickup was the '88 Dual wheel K/30,as mentioned by Dooley (no 2wd?). I almost bought one from a GMC dealer in '91 for $13,000 with 16,000 miles looking like a brand new truck. Top of the line fully loaded midnight blue & dark grey metallic 454 truck, but the retarded bank acted like it was a risk and wanted almost 1/2 down. That, combined with higher interest and a short used car warranty caused me to decide on ordering a new truck with 100k warranty and lower monthly payments. I knew it was my last chance to buy an about new fully rebuildable truck built like none ever again. It hurt to pass, but the ';92 has been a great choice. I didn't really want dual wheels either.

The square cab duallies are great trucks!

Pic of the new at the time 1988 V30 two door regular cab pickup. Most options included. The meat of it is the 454 engine backed by the T400 and 205 transfer case and the dealer installed free cap they were giving away with each truck purchase at that time.

And that's the two-tone scheme. Midnight Blue was on the bottom (I think). That's sure a nice one.

Original two tone but, black on the bottom of mine. I did see one back then at the dealer with a midnight blue bottom and white west coast mirrors. It otherwise was equipped like mine.
