67 C10 Blazer Gas Tank Help, please
We are converting out C10 in cab fuel tank with aftermarket Blazer tank.
As a disclaimer, I am aware that there has been a lot of threads on this subhect. I have researched and googled all the threads on this forum an others and I was unable to find something that addressed my concerns specifically. Can someone advise me how best I can install this gas tank? Is the gas tank center lip supposed to rest underneath the frame spars (or inside)? Is this the direction it is supposed to go (left side inspout)? How should I attach those brackets? I have a metal truck bed and C10 1967 full size truck. Thanks, |

Re: 67 C10 Blazer Gas Tank Help, please
I am having the same problem right now... The straps go side to side direction...The problem I'm having is the tank is to high and the bed hits the top of tank... I'm thinking about lowering the gas tank about 2 1/2 inches but would have to do more modifications to the tank... As soon as i figure it out I can tell u how I did it... Or if someone could help us that would be great... Dave

Re: 67 C10 Blazer Gas Tank Help, please
I installed a poly tank from GMC Paul, (board member and vendor) several years ago when I had my truck repainted. Had the bed off completly while body guy was working on it. Mine is a long bed and I "think" it was the second from the rear bed cross brace that I cut about a 2" section from it and then welded the cut portion shut with the metal I removed. Waste not, want not. Straps go across the underneath side of the tank and bolt to the frame with one side using a " J " bolt. Put the fuel inlet inside the bed thru the driver's side bed wheel tub. Fills nice with no back flow problems, have it vented with two vents for flow, internal fuel sender. Very satisfied with it. Not sure I have pics in the computer anymore as since then we had to replace the computer when it crashed. If pics are needed to help understand I will try and do that next couple days. Tank doesn't hang low at all but then my truck is stock sprung 4x4, no lift, and not a lowred 2wd.

That was my other option... Cutting 2 inches off the bed brace...

Since it's your first time.If you have the bed off, look for a thread showing the crossmember mods since it's easier to get to everything. But you will Really want the bed in place to be sure there are no interference problems when you finalize the install. There shouldn't be unless the filler neck needs a bit of tweaking.
