Re: ls engine in a 56
When we do modern motors in old cars or trucks we like to put the computer somewhere on the passanger side. Either in a kick panel, under the dash or we have even put one under the seat. Although we havent done a 56 yet ill try and find some pictures of the other cars.

I smoothed over the dash where the radio goes and I put my computer in behind there. That way it's out of the weather and it's not an eyesore in the engine compartment. I have a 95LT1 in my truck.

I need to send the factory computer off to remove the wires I dont need. since i removed the behind the seat tank I may put it there. i did here that the 2 inch bundle of wire gets preaty small. how small? i dont want a snake under my carpet.
some info. doing a rat rod with 4 wheel disc twin turbo 4.8 with custom interior. to old to ride on springs. will have air , pw, rack pinion, nav, rear camera, start button. have the seat that was done in distrested green leather with horse blanket inserts. have 3 inch wider rear fenders and a mini tub started. |

Re: ls engine in a 56
I ran my harness through the floor on the passenger side. Had to use a Mustang EECIV oval grommet to get the plugs in. Will probably velcro it to the carpet when I get it in. Even when done the bundle of wire is about 1 inch thick. I'm using an aftermarket harness but after I saw all the good info at LT1swap.com on how to do it yourself I might just attempt it myself next time and save $500.
