Pics of a stock radio...

I have found a radio and am pretty sure its a stock one from a 68. Want to know what they look like? All styles in our years. Thanks!!

Beatiful dash! And that is one of my favourite colours! I wouldn't change a thing except that Cig lighter. It's wrong.

Mine, too, though I have the knobs with the metal inserts and the correct lighter. I did have the same duct tape on the defroster hoses till I replaced them.

Soon, mine will be white, however.

Duct tape on hoses!?!?

I thought I was the only one who did that!? Is there anything Duct tape CAN'T do? (ponders if should create entire thread dedicated to Duck tape use on our trucks)

Thanks Jeff. I hadn't even noticed that the lighter was wrong, I'm getting another truck.......in about 30 minutes or so. (honest) Maybe this one has the correct lighter. It does have a flawless original steering wheel!

Not to bust in on a post, but what is a am/fm radio worth?

Thanks.

casey,
Not my radio but I like it a lot.
I stole the pic off of TXgary's web page.
He sold it quite a while back.

ScottH,
Condition plays a factor in the price equation.
The other is the demand.
I have seen ones in average condition bring upwards of $175.00
I saw a new one (never installed) still in the box with the speaker kit which was also brand new at a swapmeet and they were saying that it was a steal at $350.00
The guy that had it specialized in old OEM radios and knew a lot more about them than me.
If this was listed on your option sheet and you were doing an original restoration it would be the visual centerpiece.

The above prices are just what I have seen around the swapmeets and in no way reflect a value guide. I would be more prone to do some tradeing with a fellow trucker. Which makes for a win/win situation.
That is what makes this board a great place

Have fun
