Changing to Power Windows

My truck originally had manual windows, and I bought a set of doors that have full power. I removed the plate in the door jamb where the wire pass through, but after that I can seem to get them inside the cab. There is a double walled panel.

Has anybody done this or can help me figure how to get the wiring through the double wall panel?

You will have to drill a hole on the inside kick panel, and keep drilling until you reach the inner structure, drill thru it too. Route your wires, when you finish, simply plug the hole with a cap/grommet, and bolt your kick panels back up. I did this on my 73

Thanks for the info. I guess having a hole there isn't too bad, because it will be covered by the kick panel. I thought maybe there was a way to do this without having a hole.

What year truck.
On my 81-91 crew cab there were holes above the bottom of the dash.
I had to drill the outer (there were locating indent ions indicating where to drill), but not the inner.
The 77-up should have the proper hole, that's when power windows became an option (IIRC)

I saw where the hold is in the door jamb, but after that, it goes into a double wall panel that I am unable to get to. I will double check though. I think the hole your talking about, may not be large enough to reach in.

I cut my dash out, so I will double check and might have easy access.

Yeah, it is tight but do-able.
You have to snake it up there.

This is what I did on an 87 cab that had the dimples already there for reference.

That's how mine looks now. Thanks for the pictures, I will fish through the double wall panel on the inside of the cab. If not, drill a hole like bigblock73 mentioned.

I am pretty sure the early cabs will not allow you to fish the wires thru there...I tried. GM may have changed the inner cab structure when power door options were offered, to allow the wiring to snake thru back to the fuse block.
