What kind of steering column is this in my 72?

I am wanting to take my cable shifter out of the floor and go back to column shift before i install my carpet.I have a 700R4 in the truck. What did this later tilt column come out of and could it be used on the 700R4?

that looks like a 73 and up truck column to me. You should be able to just bolt the shifter bracket and stuff to the frame and it should actually work fine. The only thing i would watch out for is if the column is not set far enough in to the firewall due to the shifter cup on the column next to the gauges. then, the rod that goes from the column to the linkage that bolts under the driver could interfere with the firewall.
